The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Release Date Announced

The release date and a bizarre new trailer for The Binding of Isaac has been posted on Steam today. You can pre-order the game now, but you won't be able to play it until November 4th, 2014. This remake features a plethora of new features, such as: local co-op, all-new highly efficient game engine (expect 60fps on most PCs), all-new hand-drawn pixel style artwork, highly polished visual effects, all-new soundtrack and audio, and hundreds upon hundreds of designs, redesigns and re-tuned enhancements.

The original Binding of Isaac featured rogue-like elements that both punished newcomers and rewarded veterans. The more you play the more items and features become unlocked. This includes characters, bosses, events, areas, active items, passive items, endings, and plot twists.

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth seeks to bring back all of the features from the original while adding more of everything. In addition to simply tacking on extra content, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has overhauled the entire game engine as well as graphical assets. The game no longer runes on Flash and hosts a new, highly detailed, retro (think SNES era) art style.

Steam is currently running a promotion that gives owners of the original Binding of Isaac 33% off if they pre-order the game before it debuts on November 4th, 2014.
