How do you cheer up Toader?

I've tried telling him quite a few jokes and nothing works...

  • I got the achievement for hearing all of Croakers jokes. I thought maybe it would let me tell his jokes to Toader but it doesn't seem to do anything new.

I'm about 99% sure that you cannot cheer up Toader. I've played through the game a few times now and have wondered the same thing each time. This really isn't an answer because I'm not completely sure that I'm correct, but unless they made it a super hard to find easter egg, he'll be forever alone and unhappy.
