The best ARPG on the market today, and not because it's free

I've been playing Path of Exile off and on since closed beta and I have to say that it's developer, Grinding Gear Games, has really put their heart and soul into this project. Each patch makes the game much better than before and you never have to pay a penny, unless you want to. There are microtransactions, but it's not a pay to win model. The things that you can buy are mainly cosmetic, but you can also buy more stash space if you're an item hoarder like me!

This game definitely has a targeted demographic: hardcore ARPG fans that enjoy unlimited replayability and top notch character customization. The graphics are often criticized as the weakest element of the game, but if you play it for a while and enjoy the skill gem and passive tree systems, the graphics most likely won't matter. There's not really any other game out there with the amount of character and skill customization that Path of Exile has.
