Mugen Character Installation Instructions

To install characters for Mugen please follow these instructions

• Step 1: Download your favorite characters from www.gamewalkers.com/games/mugen/characters/
• Step 2: Extract character folders from downloaded .zip files into your "mugen/chars" directory.
• Step 3: Go to your "Mugen/data/neon/" folder and open Select.def
• *NOTE* You must edit select.def from within the Neon folder and not the version in the data folder.
• *NOTE* The version in the data folder is the original and not used with this version of Mugen. Changing it will not affect anything in your game.
• Step 4: You will notice there are a number of lines with the word "Char" replace this with the name of your downloaded character folder.

  EG: "Mugen/chars/Guy" would go into your select.def file as "Guy" (without quotes) in place of "Char"

This:	-empty-; empty space kfm Char
Should look like this:	-empty-; empty space kfm Guy

• Step 5: Save your changes to select.def
• Step 6: Run Mugen.exe and locate your new character in the ingame roster.

There are additional instructions included in the select.def file for further customization (stages, fight order, music etc.)

The above instructions are the most basic needed for getting your new characters into Mugen.
