This game is now one of my favorites! My buddy shared it with me and after about 30-45 minutes of playing I bought myself a copy. It's by far one of the best sidescroller games I've played in the last few years. The art and character animations are terrific. It's not a game where you kill enemies left and right. You sneak around and can stealthily take out enemies that are in your path with a well placed back stab. The game is extremely fun.
The game is well worth the $15 I paid for it. I've played the game about 18 hours over the long weekend and I still have quite a bit to do!
There are quite a few things to unlock, such as equipment and different outfits. Some of the level objectives seem to require you to have certain pieces of equipment unlocked. Or maybe not? I could be wrong about that. It was pretty fun to play the game and slowly unlock new ways to dispatch of enemies and other ninja esque things. Compared to RPGs, it's really nothing. But for this type of game, it was a fun addition in my opinion.
I'm not really into cartoons, but the cinematics are very fitting for the art style and were very well made.
I'm still playing the game even after beating it. There are leaderboards that I can't seem to get very high in. I've stopped trying to climb the leaderboards and am now just trying to finish all of the optional level objectives and find all of the hidden artifacts.
While there are a lot of fairly easy achievements, there are a ton of achievements that you have to read and then try to do. A lot of them are super fun and I've still not achieved them all in close to 20 hours of gameplay.
Up for a challenge? Holy crap new game plus is hard.
Good luck getting very high up on the leaderboard. Little kids and there great eye-hand coordination or something. I can't seem to get anywhere near the top of the leaderboard. 8 for difficulty of reaching the top.
The story was alright. The cinematics contain most of the storyline. I was a bit confused towards the ending(not proud to admit), but I was honestly so sucked in by the gameplay, I wasn't really paying that much attention to it.
It's a sidescroller... hmm. Not much else to say. The controls for a sidescroller were pretty good for the most part.
Not really into the trading card thing...
Must have. I can't imagine trying to play this on a keyboard and mouse. I'm not even sure if you can? I played this with my PS3 controller and MotionJoy. Some of the controls were a bit awkward sometimes, but for the most part you're one with the character through the controller. There were a few times that I was frustrated with the aiming. I'd aim to climb on a light post and instead shoot up to the nearby roof. But that didn't happen all that often.
So good. The way the levels are set up is perfect! It's like a playground for a ninja. There's not many places that you can't get to. The combat is all about killing the guards stealthily. If you're seen, it's pretty easy to get your butt kicked.
Like I've said above, the level design is great. So many places to hide and so many hidden passages to sneak around in. The guards are on a patrol loop, so once you figure them out, it's pretty easy to get around unnoticed.
9 for new game+, probably a 5-6 on the normal mode. New game+ is insane.
Super fun! It's like a spider man game and assassins creed had a 2d side scroller game. You can climb ceilings and walls and take down every guard you see completely unseen. After killing your target, there are a few ways to dispose of the body so other guards don't see it.
It's like a 2D assassins creed. Climb anything, sprint around, grapple onto light posts and to the tops of buildings. Great fun.
I can't remember the last sidescroller game I've played. If more games come out like this, I may be revisiting my childhood type of games a lot more. If you have a controller and $15 bucks, it's definitely worth checking out!

Developer Spotlight: Sean HoganSoundtracks can be one of the largest components of a game that the player takes with them after they complete it. Those songs can remind us of the things we experienced while playing, and they're all such wonderful memories.
