How do I open the gate at Wind Terminus West?

I've tried shooting a rock onto the platform and a few other things and I can't seem to figure out how to open the gate. Anyone know?

Doh! All you need to do is get up close to the gate and drop something on it from your inventory onto the panel right behind the gate.
