Developer Spotlight: Sean Hogan

Soundtracks can be one of the largest components of a game that the player takes with them after they complete it. Those songs can remind us of the things we experienced while playing, and they're all such wonderful memories.

I'm sure there are several video game songs running through your mind as you're reading this. If I was reading, as opposed to writing this, I'd be thinking about Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy(any/all of them), Zelda(any/all of them), Demon/Dark Souls and so many others.

We all know that, for the most part, these composers are hired by the people creating the game to create a specific style of music for their soundtrack. Today I'd like to point out someone in the indie game genre who I think is an extremely talented composer: Sean Hogan. He is the lead developer and composer for Analgesic Productions, the creators of Anodyne and the upcoming title, Even the Ocean. I'm sure there are plenty of people that take on a wide range of duties during the development of a game, but we'll save those for another time.

I listen to the Anodyne and Even the Ocean soundtrack quite often while working. It's very relaxing music! I want to thank you, Sean Hogan, for releasing the music from your games for free for everyone to enjoy. I made a playlist(no specific order) of his music that I really like. Check it out!
