The only good thing I can say about this game is that the graphics aren't bad. If you have any positive feelings for the point-and-click adventure game genre, steer clear of this game as it will probably be a very depressing and/or befuddling experience.
The gameplay wasn't too bad. It suffered from something that many P&C adventures suffer from: a character that moves at a snail's pace from point a to point b, which can be boring and tedious. Since moving around to talk to people and solve a mystery is the major focus of gameplay, it detracted from my enjoyment of it quite a bit. There are a few mini-games where you play billiards or go skiing, but the controls were clumsy and they didn't really add anything to the overall experience.
The puzzles weren't very challenging or fun, but they were usually intuitive. Mediocre.
Again, not horrible but definitely not great.
Wow. Just...wow. The story is a complete mess. It tries to do that oh-my-god-I-didn't-see-that-coming plot twist at the end and it only succeeded in being confusing and--though I feel bad saying this--lame. Another thing, though I'm not certain this is the proper category for this, the voice acting is by far the worst I have ever experience in my gaming life. Worst. Ever. The protagonist isn't absolutely abysmal in this department, but every other voice actor is.
Have you ever read a book in which, at the end, the author seems to lose focus and decide to wrap everything up with a lazy deus ex machina? That's what happens to this story. It's bizarre. And not in a fun or interesting way.
Don't spend your money on this. Seriously. DON'T spend your money on this.
It's very rare that I can think of nothing nice to say about a game, but this is one of those occasions. The whole thing is just a train wreck. NOT RECOMMENDED.
