Reasons why Towns is like Clockwork Empires

As I'm writing this, both of these games are in early access. Towns may no longer be in development or finished, but I still managed to get 56 hours of gameplay out of it.

You're in charge of a settlement in both games and you have to manage everything that everyone does. If you do nothing, they will all die of starvation. The people in Clockwork Empires will most likely survive a little longer due to the fact that they will turn to cannibalism before killing the wild animals that are just a few feet away from them.

I feel like there's a lot more freedom in building your own structures in Towns, but that may change as the developers of Clockwork Empires are updating their game quite frequently. In Towns, you can build anything any way you want. If you want all of your people to live in a single 5 story apartment complex rather than individual houses, you can do that. If you want to build a huge castle and individual homes around it, you can do that too. In Clockwork Empires, you're stuck with individual buildings, but you can customize the floorplan of each building.

In both games, you have to set up various buildings that have specific roles, such as: Kitchens, slaughter house, alchemy workshop, arsenal, etc. In both games you can also plant crops and have the kitchen use the harvested raw food to make various dishes for your people to eat.

The thing that I'm most excited about in Clockwork Empires is the multiplayer. I cannot wait to play a game similar to Towns with my significant other or a friend.
