Insert Money Here #4
by Malero on April 30, 2014, 4:43 p.m.
It's been quite a while since our last Insert Money Here article. After giving $70 USD to American McGee for the Akaneiro: Demon Hunters and getting screwed over, I thought that I'd never back another Kickstarter, Indie Go Go, etc project again. Looking back, I've seen and backed some wonderful games and I thought I'd give this segment another go! Here are five games that we have selected and think look very promising!
Sorry for the poor image quality on some of these preview screenshots! We didn't have much to work with.
If you have ideas for next week's article, feel free to email me at malero@gamewalkers.com or send a message through G+, Twitter or Facebook!

Shot down behind enemy lines, Lt. Guy Kassel is captured and thrown into the most feared prison camp of all: Verdammen Hof. Hoping to regain his freedom and return home to his beloved fiancée, Guy teams up with a group of specialist escapees who devise their most daring breakout yet.
The Breakout is a nail-biting point-and-click adventure that pays homage to the captivating storytelling and characterization of the classic Point n Click games of the 1990s combined with the tense filmmaking style of classic movies like The Great Escape.

The King, once Armello's wise and benevolent ruler, has fallen ill to a dark and mysterious force known only as the Rot. In response, Armello's Great Clans have called forth their Heroes to claim the throne of Armello; and this is where you start your adventure, Hero.
3. Mark of the Old Ones
- Windows
- Linux
- Mac
Enjoined by an unfathomable deity, rediscover a derelict eldritch civilization, teeming with ghastly horrors and wondrous beauty.
Down, down, down. Deeper and deeper. Below the mountain lies Namaset, a cavernous metropolis, built for Kraal, a great and eternal being. Yet Kraal's throne is grim. Namaset is a shunned and long banished civilization; banished for a grudge born out of malevolence and love. It falls to you, Mogal, powerful in your own right, to unwind the mistakes of eons past.
'Mark of the Old Ones' (MotOO) is a 2.5D Metroidvania physics platformer. Inspired by some of our favorite games such as Metroid and Zelda, as well as by the mythos of HP Lovecraft. We modernize the classics by adding dynamic inverse kinematic animation to the mix; giving you the ability to explore and interact with the game world in ways that you never have before, in ways that will quickly become natural to your fingers, brain, and gamer soul.
4. TECHNOLUST: True Cyberpunk
- Windows
- Linux
- Mac
The world's first fully immersive Cyberpunk adventure made exclusively for the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality System.
TECHNOLUST is a Virtual Reality Adventure set in a near-future Cyberpunk world. The world and style of TECHNOLUST are inspired by 1980's and 90's Cyberpunk fiction like Blade Runner, Neuromancer and Robocop.
Virtual Reality technology such as the Oculus Rift allow a player to deeply explore a fully realized, living, breathing world and truly be present in the game, rather than just controlling an avatar.
5. Pann The Game
- Windows
- Mac
A mysterious instrument brings Apollo deep into the hidden world of Pann. A 2D Rhythm Action Platformer for the PC/mac
Somewhere in a parallel universe there is utter chaos. Yet the disarray is handled with a high level of sophistication. Young potent Princes are put through a selection process to replace the older generation of Deities. With age not being the defining factor for mortality in Pann, there are those who are willing to train for centuries, preparing for the ultimate challenges that also could result in death.
Pann is a 2D-Action/Adventure game with a focus on the in-game music mechanics. The combat system works in synchronicity with the soundtrack. With each consecutive action that is on beat, Apollo gains more power and additional special attacks. Players who assume the role of Apollo, fight with different enemies and bosses all over the world of Pann.
