Greenlight #12 - 14 Games Greenlit

Steam greenlit 16 projects today, including 14 game titles and 2 software titles. It's a very good day for indie game developers! And with over a quarter of the games being in the horror genre, it's an even better day for me! Check out the official Steam announcement!

14 Game Titles

• 1. A Hat in Time

  A Hat in Time is a 3D collect-a-thon platformer in the spirit of Rare and Nintendo games on the Nintendo 64!

• 2. Among the Sleep

  Among the Sleep is a first person horror adventure, in which you play a two year old child.

• 3. BROFORCE

  A ridiculously violent platform game about being awesome action heroes from the 80s and 90s while slaying satanic terrorists and aliens while unraveling an evil plot to destroy the planet while dealing with being awesome action heroes from the 80s and 90s.

• 4. Centration

  Centration is a first person survival horror multiplayer sandbox game.

• 5. Chasm

  Chasm is a 2D Action-RPG Platformer currently in development for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Taking equal inspiration from hack 'n slash dungeon crawlers (procedurally generated dungeons, loot drops, etc) and Metroidvania-style platformers, the game aims to immerse you in its 2D fantasy world full of exciting treasure, deadly enemies, and abundant secrets.

• 6. Darkwood

  Darkwood is a top-down, oldschool survival horror set in a procedurally generated, open world. It features RPG and roguelike elements, with intense combat and a eerie atmosphere. In a nutshell, it can be described as a mix of Project Zomboid, Don't Starve and Teleglitch, directed by David Lynch.

• 7. Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut

  Part suspense-filled horror, part action-adventure game, Deadly Premonition offers an open-world experience packed with locals to meet and places to discover, as well as numerous side quests and mini-games that will help you solve the murders and uncover Greenvale's deepest, darkest secrets.

• 8. Divekick

  Divekick is a fighting game that distills the essence of the genre into just two buttons with no directional movement. When you play Divekick, it will open your mind to how much depth a single move actually has, and introduce (or re-enforce) skills fundamental to the genre: mind games, spacing, timing, and quick reactions.

• 9. Operation Black Mesa

  Operation Black Mesa is a total remake of Half-Life: Opposing Force. Utilizing the Source engine, Tripmine Studios plans to recreate the Black Mesa Research Facility from the ground up, as seen by the protagonist, Adrian Shephard.

• 10. Project Awakened

  Project Awakened is a genre-defying game that lets you answer the question: "Who do you want to be?" For the first time in a modern AAA action game, you will have the opportunity to completely define your dream videogame character, from abilities to aesthetics, all while playing in an action-packed world that responds to your personal playstyle.

• 11. Recruits

  Recruits is a squad based top down shooter. Inspired by games like Cannon Fodder, Alien Swarm and Jagged Alliance Recruits puts players on the front lines of the battlefield to accomplish your missions through any means necessary. Fast paced and packed with explosions, Recruits offers a wide variety of features that allow you, and your friends to take command of the action and lead your men to victory.

• 12. Rekoil

  In one word, REKOIL is: Refreshing. By stripping away the over complications that the FPS genre has become, it refocuses back on the basics of what makes a great shooter and polishes those core mechanics to a point of sheer competitiveness. - beep. boop.

• 13. Shelter

  Shelter is a third-person, single-player adventure game for PC and Mac and that is developed in Unity. It tells the story of a badger family facing the dangers of the wild, while the cubs are too young to survive without their mother. The games narrative is linear and guides the player through the badger families' life, and different scenarios that nature brings: Deep forests, vast fields, dark nights, heavy rain, hungry predators and even raging wildfires.

• 14. StarMade

  StarMade is a cube Space Shooter. The game is currently in the ALPHA phase, and you can try it out completely free.

2 Software Titles

• 1. Dexster Audio Editor

  Dexster is a perfect audio editor software for your music production that supports many popular audio formats and features Audio CD burning.

• 2. GraphicEditor openCanvas

  openCanvas is a paint/drawing software that enables you to record/replay your drawing procedure. If you use the "Event" function (to replay the drawing process), it is quite easy to find out how an illustration was created!
